Hemacite is a 19th century plastic made from blood and sawdust, compressed and heated in steel molds.
Existing before bakelite, it is part of a fascinating period of organic plastics from the late 19th century, and is a particular fascination of ours.
Unfortunately our current experiments in it have stalled out - but when time permits we will return to it!
